I have been wanting to get exhaust real bad for a long time. However I have yet to get it done b/c of other projects. I was thinking of getting:
21/4 all the way
pacesetter header
flowmaster muffler
highflow cat
But:
I was thinking if I get an electronic cut out for when I spray, that kind of defeats the purpose of the exhaust (besides the header and besides normal every day power)
am I right or am I just thinking wrong. Cause not enough exhaust would flow all the way to the muffler if the cut out is partially open, this wouldn't allow much back pressure and it would be just as if I had got my exhaust done and had the cut out open anyways right?
Thanks for the input I know all these exhaust questions get old in here real fast.
thanks
Hey matt i just ordered a pacesetter header and high flow cat lets see how it sounds this weekend
i just put a pacesetter header, and i " feel the power"
actually i noticed a nice gain between 2,800 - 4,200 RPM's
especially the 2nd gear is awsome'
did get the 2¼" exaust put on yet, had some issues, be carefull with the manifold gasket, discount doesn't have one....

wait for it... wait for it... NOW GO!! ---> '02 LS Sport <---

yes i have to eco, how hard was it to install that header, did u weld it straight to ur stock cat or how bad was it
I've got the 2.2 ohv, not the eco but I have the pacesetter 4-1, removed cat and dual resonators with 2 1/4" all the way through and my car picked up nearly a second in the quarter mile.
So based on my results, the eco should respond just as well if not better than the ohv did.
Sweet glad to hear good gains, eric sounds good hit me up.
But that still leaves this one quesion un answered:

Just a cutout will work but they don't sound to good on these cars. I had a cutout on my camaro, that sounded great
2012 HD VRSCF
2010 Ford Explorer
2006 Ford Ranger
2004 Chevy Cavalier
Not for sound that would only be opened for performance
it WILL help.... I have the weapon-R header, with the electronic cutout elded straight to the end of it, then a high flow cat form there and 2.25 the rest of the way back... even with the whole exhaust done there was a gain with the cutout cracked a bit at WOT on nitrous. the problem is getting the thign figured out how much you needed it open.... I had/have (I still have it but doesn't work... be carefull the motor hangs low... I bottomed out the motor one to many times and it snapped) and at the track i experimented... I ran my best times starting with the cutout completely closed and taping the switch towards the open position quickly 4 times, it was a small gain but it was noticable.... 60 foot times where slightly better on regular tires cause I lost a tiny bit down low so wouldn't spin as hard out of the hole, but gained towards the top (your inly in the low RPM range right off the line then its all high RPM for the rest of the track) even on the drag radials the little loss down low didn't matter, dumped it alittle higher got a little tire spin and then crammed a 100 shot through it in first
Its a worthwhile investment if you NEED it but to be honest I don't knwo if you will benifit from it or not... I was running all the bolt ons, cams, and a 100 shot so I had alot of flow through that engine
