ok...im NOT ASKING ABOUT THE SOCK....i was lookin under the hood today and i was thinkin about just takin my intake off b/c the stupid support thing broke...then i realized the sensor and vaccum line....i heard of people runnin with just a sock or panty hose over the intake or w/e....but what do they do about the vaccum line and sensor?

...are you trolls that dumb that you cant realize mid 15s is slower then 14s?
Put the vacuum and sensor in a shoe tied to the battery box.
Neutiquam erro.
The IAT sensor needs to be somewhere near the T/B if you're going to ditch the intake tube completely. It doesn't need to be inside it, just near the opening. It only needs to sense the incoming air temp.
You can use one of those breather filters on the end of the hose, or take the hose off completely and put the filter on where the hose connected.
honestly i wouldnt use something like that over my TB id be scared @!#$less it would be sucked in

The one, the only, ME.
i don't see this as being something positive for your motor and performance

id say quit being cheap save yourself a lot of money for a new motor and go buy a 10 dollar filter for a local auto parts store. i wouldnt trust a sock or pantyhose to cover an intake the only place the sock and patnyhose belong is on the floor along with all the other clothing from your girl lol

True... you are better to get an intake or build your own one. Sucking air right at the tb won't give you any performance. Plus, show me a "sock" intake that doesn't look stupid...

Lets just say that I misread because it's 4:00 am
Yes I'm a post whore....
04eco it's your fault if I wrote the thing about the tb
i'm just wondering what suport you actually broke?
if you can't aford to buy an intake, then swiss cheeze the BOTTOM of your airbox and take out the tank in front of your wheel... it helps a bit....

wait for it... wait for it... NOW GO!! ---> '02 LS Sport <---

i never expected to get a performance gain...since an aftermarket intake only gives very little hp anyway...im just tired of the cheap peices of crap breaking...
and i have a little bracket that i mounted to my cam bolt...and it broke.

that ish seriously made me lol.
I ran mine open for about 4 months, the damn filter broke and I refused to buy another one, so I threw it out and ran the car without one, and no, nothing covering the hole either! I think filters are overrated! Of course the motor is sitting in my garage now and I have a new one in the car, but it doesn't have anything to do with that! It was still running strong when I switched!
