No, you didn't search. Lazy = bad, and usually won't get you positive results here.

First, what motor & year car do you have? I'm assuming the 2.4. What brand/company is selling the camshafts? Who grinded the camshafts?

Camshafts aren't like an intake where it's a simple thing to install and isn't that critical if it doesn't work or fit correctly. You camshafts control how much air comes into your motor and exhaust leaves your motor. If they are grinded badly, this can effect your motor in a very bad way.

Buying off of ebay can yeah, be cheaper BUT there is a difference between cheap quality and cheap prices. Do more research (even though you claim you are lazy). By doing this, this will save you time, money and headaches...trust me I know. Take it from someone who has upgraded his camshafts and has seen people who jump on great deals but don't do more research on them (hence LZM GP).

If you want to know more about the Secret Cam swap, read this: Secret Cam Swap Info

Also, please fill out your registry, that will help you with future questions you have to ask...

Good Luck and if you have anymore questions, just ask.

Yeah, I'm always here to help.

Ask the guy what car each cam is from then look at that link I showed you. If they match up, then that is the correct camshafts for the secret cam swap and you just need to make sure the seller isn't a scam artist or isn't trying to rip you off.

Good Luck.

Very true BUT that's the risk you take when buying off ebay. If you don't want to take that risk, look in the classifieds on this site or just buy completely new camshafts.

It really depends on the person who is doing it but I would suggest not doing it yourself unless you are mechanically inclind and have done alot of research. The timing is critical and installed improperly that will result in alot of problems. Take it to a pro if you don't know what you're doing.

Camshafts usually run around $450-550 depending on where you get them and what company sells them.

For the 2.4, I'd say check out Jbody Performance.

This is from the page I linked you:

Now what makes this swap a bit different is that the new 2.4 engines have the power steering pump hex shaft machined with the input for the camshaft position to the intake camshaft.

I believe that's the biggest reason why you can't use the camshafts from that motor.

Everything I've done to my car is in my registry but I'll list it anyways:

- Weapon-R Intake System w/Secret Weapon Filter
- Cold Air Shield & Ram Air Hose that connects to front bumper
Removed Stock Intake & Resonator
- Weapon-R 4-2-1 Header (2 1/2")
- Magnaflow High-Flow Catalytic Converter (2 1/2")
- Magnaflow Custom Mendral Cat-Back Piping (2 1/2")
- Magnaflow SS Universal Mufflers (2 1/2" inch inlet) with 4" SS Tip
- RSM 62 MM Thottle Body
- RK Sport Upper Engine Mount
- RK Sport Lower Engine Mount
- Auto Trans Interceptor
- RK Sport Underdrive ECOTEC Crank Pulley
- J Body Performance Stage 1 Cams (Grinded by Colt Cams) - 265 Duration 408 Lift
- Apexi SAFC II
- Patriot Performance Stage 2 P & P Head

You can do pretty much everything I've done...do all the bolt ons and work your motor a little bit and you might be happy with it. Yeah, boost is expensive but it sure is worth it LOL

That ebay guy sounds too good to be true...buy elsewhere, not through him.

the casting number for the exhaust cam don't mean sh**. The Lo, Ho and W41 cams have ALL the same casting number.

You have to mesure the cam or know where it came from.

Another thing, we found some Lo engine with Ho cams, head or intake manifold.

So you really need to mesure the cam or hope the the guy is not screwing you.

New cams from Gm for the 2.3 runs around 500$ each unless you have a friend there.

Gilles
2.3 Ho
