MSD fuel pump location
Wednesday, October 05, 2005 7:43 PM
Hey guys im just trying to install my fuel Inline fuel pump and I was just wondering where I should install it. Right after the fuel tank a rubber hose ties into the fuel filter, should I relocate the fuel filter and tie in there or should I cut a chunk of steel tubing out and install it pretty much under the drivers seat. Will hose and clamps work for this?

it will work but i woult not recommend it, you are dealing with fuel wich can be very dangerous if it comes into contact with something that its not supposed to, and also here are some things to remember: electric in-line fuel pumps are made to push fuel, not to suck, so in other words its really the best idea to mount it as close to the gas tank as possible. also, whenever you mount the pump, place some type of pad behind it like rubber or something. you will find out that these MSD pumps are not the quietest little guys. also remember that hose clamps will work but there are better ways. and sorry to burst your bubble, but you would really be better off buying a high output fuel pump for the 4.3 chevy blazer, "its a high flow fuel pump that will work in our j-bodys" however you do have to do some slight modification to the pickup tube and plastic cup that surrounds the pump inside the tank but it nothing thats hard what so ever, it takes 10 mins. good luck bro
