hey i raced at the track last night and pulled a 14.20 with a 40 shot and then a 14.50 with a 40 shot, bottles was 100% full too. my best times last week was a 14.1 and a 14.2 so something has to be up since its cooler out and im running worse. so i start the engine up this morning and i do my daily check under the hood while its idling and i hear tap tap tap from the valve cover area. now the car runs fine it seems but what you think this could be? bent rod, lifter or valve? when i rev it up it gets louder. thanks guys
My guess would be timing chain related noise might be the tensioner or guides, the other possibility is a spun bearing making some noise its hard to say without hearing it run.

Yes officer I knew the speed limit was 50
What happened to my motor is I had an oil leak after I put the rubo in. I thought I stayed on top of it until I got it fixed. I was wrong. It started with I quiet tapping noise I thought was a valve. Then it got louder. It turned out I starved one of the rod bearing of oil. Not a pretty thing. they say I have to rebuild the motor.
seems like a loose lifter from what people around my area have told me, it rattles up to when the cars oil gets warm then it stops and then it will tap tap tap after it stops for a short time....having a local shop look at it tomarrow
