just wondering how many upper/lower engine mounts there are on a 2.4L 1996 engine. i know there is 1 upper, but how many lowers? i need to buy some new mounts off gravana, but gravana only has 1 kind of lower mount. is there really only 1 lower mount or do i need to buy more then 1?

and how hard is the install?

took me 25 to 30 mins to do both with impact wrenchs. one is next to your coolant container (the white thing with 2 hoses connected to it on the passanger side) and the other is underneath the car. its about center with the car. Its not hard to spot. heres a link to how to install them its pretty simple but i do recommend using impact tools cause they are on tight. lower mount instructions with pics

Also if you're looking replace your upper engine mount, there aren't any companies that make a replacement mount, just an insert. Only the ECOTECs have a full mount replacement.

thats gay.....why wouldnt a company sell performance mounts for our cars for the upper mount? well would the insert work for what i need it for? im trying to replace my engine mounts because 1 of them is bad, it might be the upper too.

There is one company that made a replacement mount for the upper.
Cost was like $130-$150 I can't remember.

Probably didn't sell very many though.

Getting both is worth it. The insert is all you need, not a whole replacement. Installing both turned my car from a 15.8 to a 15.3
