I have a 98 chevy cavalier 2.2l NONecotec. i was wondering what engine i should go with 2.2l ecotec or 2.4l? Please help!!!!!
It really depends on your preference.
I personally would go with the ECOTEC cause you can find them for decent prices, low mileage, there are more parts available for it and GM supports it much more.
Also, check out the ECOTEC Build Guide sticky for parts listings...

Well with a 2.4 it would be a direct swap fitment wise, as the engine retains all stock motor mounts and tranny mounts.....
For the Eco you'll have to cut out your tranny mounts and your top motor mount....
Obviously you'll need a corresponding ECU and tranny for either engine choice.....
if anything is wrong here I'm sure someone will correct me!

would help to know if its auto or manual. but like ^^^ he said it would be easier to put a 2.4 in. Plus while u have the 2.4 out might as well save yourself the down time and tear it apart and rebuild it. this way you dont have to worry about problems down the road
