I'm looking for a better oil pump for the 2200 motor, because I'm almost positive the stock one won't hold up to the abuse I'm going to put it through.

Melling makes a high volume pump that will fit the newer 2.2s. The pump is actually listed for a 90-93ish 2.2. The stock early 90's 2.2 oil pumps flowed more volume than the newer 2.2 pumps anyways. The high volume pump that Melling sells suppose to flow 25% more than the stock early 1990 pumps.
275hp & 306tq - 1999 2.2 ohv
13.2 @ 108 mph
-1996 2.4 liter + Turbo + Built motor + Torco + More boost = Lots o' Power
-2000 Mustang GT + 2004 Cobra motor, Whipple 2.3 supercharger,
built rear-end,Dodge Viper spec T56 6 speed, bolt-ons = wheelies at the track!!!!!

I dont have any links, but the part # is M-98HV. If you are going to try to use this pump, make sure that you turn the motor over by hand to check for clearances between the rotating assembly and the body of the pump. The high volume pump is a little bit bigger than stock.

Well like most performace street engines, you dont need a "High Volume" oil pump, most times you will suck the oil pan dry, and threy take alot of HP to turn.
What you need is to get a High Pressure oil pump, they dont rob as much power, and the volume of the stock pump is quite adequit for our engines.
With a high volume you will flood the top end of the engine and the head cant drain it back fast enough.
I believe i seen a High Pressure reworked oil pump on JBP website. I think that would be the best way to go.
