Throttle body spacers

I'm thinking of getting a throttle body spacer for my 2.4 but I wondering (since I don't know nothing about them) would they mess up anything after being installed? how much more power do you get from it? does your MPG drop or raise?

Don't waste your money. It doesn't help any with performance.

This is straight out the FAQ:

Performance FAQ wrote:Throttle body spacers: granted they do a bit on some carbureted engines, not much of a diff on our 3rd gens. There are PLENTY of posts on then whether you search for “TB spacer” or “throttle body spacer” here are the results:

http://www.j-body.org/forums/search.php?f=2&search=tb+spacer&globalsearch=0&match=1&date=0&fldsubject=1

and

http://www.j-body.org/forums/search.php?f=2&search=throttle+body+spacer&globalsearch=0&match=1&date=0&fldsubject=1

that should cover that.

I agree. With the Beltronics Vector, I showed no increase in power, or decrease in 1/4 mile time. BUT my mileage improved. So it depends on what it's worth to you, but if I average 360-400 kms per tank before, and go up by at least 40 kms per tank, sooner or later it adds up. To me its worth it. But if you don't have the $100 plus cdn dollars it's gonna cost, then keep putting it in the tank.

Support the gas company, or support the aftermarket....

Plus it's got the "powerport" so i didn't have to drill my intake or manifold....

the only thing these are really good for is nitrous. you can drill the spacer instead of your intake.

You did the math to come up with a 12% increase? How many calculations was this based on?

Can someone.....anyone tell me how you got an increase in gas meileage by extending the length of your intake tract? Since feul on our cars is sprayed directly in to the cylinder via the fuel injectors, adding a TB spacer that is 1" long is the same thing as adding one inch of plastic or metal to the end of your intake where the filter is.

Can someone explain to me.. does an aftermarket intake even fit after installing 1" spacer? My AEM already hits my hood... ?

only thing i am using mine for is to drill my injector into for my alcohol injection... other wise only thing they are good for is fuel economy.
