Found this on eBay. I don't have an ecotec, but if I did, I would be all over this one...
Have fun! Hopefully I didn't spoil it for anyone

"THIS LISTS FOR $4192.84!"
Umm...seriously that is a crock. A head with a simple port and polish, camshafts & replace head components will not equal that amount of money. No...don't bid on it.
Check out the ECOTEC Build Guide for companies if you are seriously interested in purchasing one.

Actually the price that GM quoted was exactly that.
I don't claim to be a pro with GM products, but I sure know a great deal about import engines like Porsche. I may have to relist the head, but it isn't a simple port and polish. It was CNC machined and has ALL the goodies. I don't think that it can be welded, but it is pretty darn wicked for the money with everything it has.
Where did you get the idea of simple port and polish? Eyes can't see the CNC machining marks? I ran it by CHAPMAN racing and they said the work looked very nice and may have been one of their protos. I am waiting for further info.
I am also trying to figure out the lift and duration.
The cracks are all in the no pressure zone as well.
Feel free to ask me any questions that I can answer for you. Wish I knew this was here before I listed it.
Thanks,
Garrity
but you said it yourself. that's GM price. And we all know how overpriced GM is on "aftermarket"
I was a retard, and now I'm permanently banned.
Damn, looks like someones gonna get some good head
I can't argue that GM isn't overpriced. I just stated how overpriced they are!!!!
Thanks,
Garrity
anybody noticed that that head is cracked?

and it is CNC ported you can see the tool marks
see ya!

Exactly...why would you waste your money on a cracked head?
www.kronosperformance.com / 732-742-8837
ummmm did i read that right $4000 plus for a head????? I was just looking at a site that sold the whole motor for that and it had wayyyyy more mods and the header and manifold and throttle body included. Im not raggin on ya or anything its 4:20 somewhere or something.... Not you but the people at gm.... if that really is the case....
hello people look at the last two pic's the head is broken not brand new
see ya!
the head is brand new it looks like it was just dropped if it is what its listed to be then it still wouldnt be a bad deal cause you would get the valves retainers etc. for a decent price and then just P&P your own head

The one, the only, ME.

Hey Sherlock.....go back and read the previous posts. We know it is cracked....
Mark P.
this thread is funny. the head is easily repairable, even though i woldn't really use JB Weld to fix a cylinder head... i'd buy it, sell it as brand new again on ebay, minus the pictures of the cracked area, and blame the crack on shipping. Hey, it's ebay. You can blame anyone on ebay.

^^^^ ill remember not to buy anything off ebay from you in the future lol

Will the cam and valve & valve springs work with my stock ecotec head?
Dave Sumara wrote:Will the cam and valve & valve springs work with my stock ecotec head?
What exactly are you trying to do?
www.kronosperformance.com / 732-742-8837
Take the cam('s?), the valves and the springs and have them put into my stock head.

Which head you trying to take it from?
www.kronosperformance.com / 732-742-8837
I would like to take the cam + valves + springs from the head for sale on e-bay and have them installed on my stock head. Is it possible? Phht Dumb question? Obviously it will work, ill just have a cam thats tuned for a cnc ported head.. running in a stock head, wich will make a big difference? How much can i have my stock head cnc ported for?

Yeah it will work but I guess your taking a risk on getting some parts from a damaged head.
There is no such thing as having a cam tuned for a specific head. I would suggest reading up on what a camshaft does inside your motor and how it effects your motor.
Prices on porting a head depends on where you take it.
