Just wondering... I know several guys on here are running the S-AFC, and i'm trying to decide which way the car is going, turbo or supercharger.

As I am reading up on all of the possibilities, and for the level I want to go to with my car, the S-AFC seems to be the way to go, and my local shop has one on order for me. But I saw the Apex-i RSM-GP, which is basically a fancy way to monitor engine functions. BUT, there seems to be one or two other functions I would like to have.

Question is, Has anyone used this? Will it work on an Ecotec? Looking at the pcm pinout, it should work, but with cruise on the car too, will all of the functions still work?

Thanks for any input.

Whether you decide to go All Motor, Supercharged or Turbocharged, you can still use the SAFC-2. Currently I am all motor with my ECOTEC and have an SAFC-2 installed. Basically, it's a tuning device for your fuel, it tricks your computer changing the signal for your injectors so it can send more or less fuel to your motor.

If you need instructions on how to install it, more info on computer tuning devices for the ECO or just more information on things you can upgrade for your ECOTEC, please read the Full ECOTEC Build Guide, it has everything you can possibly need for your motor. Enjoy

I guess I wasn't too clear on that. I am getting the S-AFC, saw all of your posts, and what you've done, and seems as though this is the way to go...

What I really was wondering was will the Apex-i RSM-GP work? And can you wire this in conjunction with the S-AFC? Do you have any experience with the RSM-GP? Or will it not even work. It's supposed to have the ability to play with some functions that I will need to get rid of once I'm turbo'ed.

Glad I convinced you to go the SAFC2 route

That's a really good questino.

Before you made this post, I didn't know what an RSM-GP was and then I read up on it just now. If you have an SAFC-2, it already tells you what RPM you're going, your stock gauge cluster has your MPH. The only purpose you might have the RSM-GP for is your "elapsed time" and those little cool functions. Personally, I wouldn't even keep the RSM-GP, I would sell it because it's just a little pointless gadget.

If you really do want to keep it, call up Apexi and ask them if you can use both at the same time.

Yeah, the SAFC does the fuel thing, which is good. I guess what I was hoping that RSM-GP would do was the rev/speed limit cut.

If this worked it would be a neat option.

You have to also understand that the SAFC2 already reads your RPM so that would interfere with that device. If it works, more power to you.

Also, I'm not sure if that will get rid of your speed or rev limiter (if that's what you're talking about).
