I was thinking about putting a exhaust cut-out instead
of an exhaust, that way I would have the performance,
but when it's closed still have my stock exhaust, and stock
sound.
What sounds like a better idea (I will have a header soon),
a cut-out before the cat, or a 2.25 exhaust with two mufflers, and
a resonator? Or maybe three mufflers on the exhaust? I'm looking for a quiet
exhaust system when driving under 3000rpms, could be loud after that. Just want
a stock sound when not at the track.
Any ideas?
Try the Dynomax Super Turbo muffler. it's really inexpensive and quiet, but has a really nicer performance tone when called upon.
How about a stock muffler from another car that is larger ie: the dual outlet Camaro/Firebird muffler? Would that be a good idea? It would be free-er flowing because it's a much larger diameter pipe, but not a performance muffler. So it won't flow as much, but should be quieter right?
Thanks! I know what type of full exhaust I would build, but still tempted with a cut-out...

My mustang has Worlock mufflers, and they have a bypass built into them. When I take it out, and want to be SUPER loud, I unbolt the bypass cover on it... the only problem is that everytime I want to change it, I have to get out a creaper, and roll under the car and undo both muffler's bypasses.
The Cav's my daily driver, but I still want to have alittle fun with it once in a while.
I like the idea of the cut-outs, but with winter (-45) I don't know how well it would work manual or electric switch... Might have to get a exhaust done.
