Dynoed the car... I want to cry (56k have fun)
Saturday, August 20, 2005 7:28 PM

I'm liking the torque curve, just needs to be higher... but our best guess is its pulling spark after 5000rpm since its starting to get a bit lean, so the plan is to get an AFPR (which I've been planning on) and see how that helps. Whats everyone else think? How can I make this thing perform how it should?

For people too lazy to checkout my profile, here's my engine mod list...

* Cosmo Racing Intake
* HO Intake
* LZM (Colt) Stage II Cams
* MSD DIS-II
* MSD Coilpacks
* Taylor 8mm Spiro Core wires
* OBX stainless header
* Casper O2 Simulator
* Borla PRO XS 2.5" C/C Muffler
* Hedman Stainless Exhaust turndown tip
* 2.5" exhaust piping.

have mounts. oops... they're not in my list... looking at dyno charts on jbodyperformance.com, the cam curves seem way wrong...

Max hp at 4300rpm.......something is wrong your cams are crap or the dyno is way off............. max power should be closer to redline not 4300rpm.

no, max torque is at 4300rpm, max hp is at 5900rpm... the last chart is torque vs. a/f (i dont have a hp/af chart)

I think your missfiring or your cars in limp mode or something, does it have a check engine light on? those numbers are pathetic and virtually impossible unless you have a factory lemon or something.

ok... lets get rid of this... the dyno is operating in uncorrected mode... kinetic (the dyno that did JBP's cam charts) runs in corrected mode... the difference is 1.17... so I'm making about 130hp on kinetics dyno which is what a stock car should make... I have def have some tuning/cam out of sync problems and at this point, only cash is gonna find 'em.

No CELs, no nothing... car is fairly fast but all the mods didnt make as big of an improvement as I thought they would in the butt dyno department.

I think your cams are giving you a problem, im not familiar with colt cams are they very aggressive? cams can be over aggressive I`m not sure but definitley still very low numbers I`ll be dynoing soon and expecting way the hell more than you got. I`ll post the sheets when I do it no where in London does it though unless theres anyone who knows where to dyno iin London Ontario or somewhere near here.

Fuel pump?

That sucks Owen... no idea where to start... my fuel pump is my issue... it's starving for fuel.

Its not the cams, that same profile has netted 20hp gains for others... these are the same cams JBP sells.

I talked to Clayton at LZM tonight for about an hour... something is def @!#$ up, whether its the dyno or my tune... I'm leaning more towards my tune up since my car threw a CEL tonight! I knew they messed with my plug wires (remote coils), so that could be it... we'll find out tommorow when I go have a look under the hood.

Yes something is definately off there bud. Was this on a MustangDyno or DynoJet? Mustang always shows less hp but closer to true numbers if I'm correct, if I am wrong please correct me.

well, a bit of an update... my plugs are bright freaking white, some of the electrodes actually looked burnt off. You can see the car leaning out at the top end in the dyno charts. So new plugs (NGK Vpowers) are installed... it seems to be idling a bit smoother now.

Got an Autometer fuel pressure gauge, gotta drill and tap the fuel rail now and Lenko, I really need that AFPR you have... so lets how more fuel adjusts my dyno numbers.

Try with the factory AC Delco Platinums instead, same with your ignition, you could be loosing spark with an MSD box instead of DIS that the LD9 comes with, IMO my GT with just an upper mount would do better on a Dyno...

You know the name of it? or where it is I really want to dyno, I have some HO injectors maybe I`ll swap em inbetween runs if they'll let me see if they help me out at all.
