what is the best intake for a 1999 cavalier?
Company?
How much?
and is it cold air or short ram?
thanks
there is no best. all they are is pipe and a cone filter

Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!
USE THE ....................
Anybody?
There isn't much difference.. You're not gaining a whole lot from an intake anyway.
Go with whichever YOU like best. I have an AEM intake, but that's not to say it's the best. I believe they're all pretty equal.

I have the aem cold air. I like it but I really dont notice much if any difference from the wai I used to have. There all about the same
my motor is a 2.4L
wha do u have ur car?
I bought a Cosmo intake from www.cosmoracing.com and I'm pretty happy with it. Replaced the filter they gave with a nice big K&N cone and it's working well.
best overall intake... hmmmmmmm...
yea i'm gonna go with RSM supercharger. lol
I was a retard, and now I'm permanently banned.
^ ha
but in respose to you question the one that costs you the least.

Right on. Ebay pipes (or full intake) and add/replace with K&N filter. Maybe... $70? Or be creative and make a homemade one. Use the saved money towards header/exhaust set up.
best intake is one attached to a turbo or supercharger. now if your refering to a pipe and filter intake, id go with cheapest one

my advice is to fab your own intake.....a lot of aftermarket intakes put the filter behind the battery which makes no sense, i myself have one of these and im probably going to make one that actually can get air (closer to the ground)
i made a home depot intake.. i have an aem colder air by 4 degress per events temp readings intake lololol. Where are u from man? I know the main reason i got the aem was for carb being in cali and all.

what you just said made no sense....
its summer time... its hot outside. ever sit on the ground in the summer time? the ground is hot...
why? it absorbs heat, and gives off radiant heat. anything thats out in the sun during the day gives off heat... thats the haze you see in the distance rising from the ground.
putting the filter behind the battery makes more sense than putting it right next to the hot arse ground. less debris gets on the filter, if you live in a flood area, less chance for water submerge.... when in motion air circulates up under the hood as well as the hole where the resonator used to be....which ironically is RIGHT BEHIND THE BATTERY....
not to mention the shorter the intake, the better the throttle response...
long intakes, slow throttle response, the more bends in a pipe, the hotter the air becomes, and also less velocity is noticed. shortest distace between A and B is a straight line....
