In my area, I have 2 choices : Thrush and Cherry Bomb. They're roughly the same price (approx 40$ CAN) Also, I'm going for 2.25" inlet and outlet. I was looking at the specs for both brands and I notice something. Thrush' resonator have a 2" inner diameter while Cherry Bomb' have a inner diameter of 2.25". Which one is better and what will if I decide to get the Thrush ? Oh, and uh can I paint it using high-heat enamel ?

its not an issue of "whats better" due to size...
look inside em....
is it a bunch of holes, or does it look like a cheese grater? if its a cheese grater, stay away, thats louvered core.
yeah you can paint it, but its under your car and no garuntee anyone will see it, nor no garuntee the paint will last under there.
both should come in a variety of sizes of inlet and outlet... keep lookin around
Cherrybomb are not louvered, checked before I bought mine
Yeah I've checked both and the inside is NOT a cheese grater

However, I just wanted to know if choosing the smaller 2" diameter instead of the 2.25" diameter (as metioned earlier, both have 2.25" inlet/outlet) will put back unwanted backpressure in the exhaust system.

that all depends....
whats the rest of your exahaust system?
the resonator size you chose should be dependent on whatever the rest of your exhaust size is.
the cherry bomb i bought looked like a cheese grater and i have no complaints with it at all nor does anyone else
The one, the only, ME.
For now, it's stock minus the muffler but tomorrow, it will be2.25" diameter since I've discovered this morning that the flange after the cat is rusting out

LOL yeah my 03s aft cat flange was all rusted to hell, I put the torque bar on it and the bolts just snapped. To bad they didn't make the flanges stainless but doesnt matter much since we need to replace all that stock crap anyways

well the real simple way of lookin at it is, whatever the REST of the exhaust is, thats what everything else should be...in a nut shell...
keep it all the same.
same as the pipe size its rated for
