How-To on replacing motor mounts??

Can someone please post a How To that has the locations of all the motor mounts in a 2000 Sunfire GT. Also, How To replace them too (preferably with good pics).

Ummm... Are those the only 2 mounts?

Those pics aren't very good on the first one. Is there another How To out there that gives me bolt/screw locations? There's a lot of "remove this panel" and "remove that panel" but not telling where screws/pushclips are.

Anybody?

as long as you know what a motor mount is you should be alright...im not really firmiliar with your year, but on my 97 i didnt even have to remove my wheel well dealie like it says to...i just kinda pushed it out of the way for the lower one....im assuming it would be around the same place....i only have the lower one, but it went right in.

it's not hard to figure out if you just look at what you are doing. either the TFM site or a Haynes / Chilton's manual will guide you in replacing motor mounts. Don't forget, on the upper mount insert... have dish soap ready, it makes an excellent lubricant.

This is for my girlfriend's car. I wasn't there, but the mech said that both her mounts are broken. The bottom one seems easy enough. It's the top one that's confusing as he!!. I don't want to just do the insert. That web link only shows an insert in the top.

Do I need to remove the entire mount?
How does the replacement part come from GM?
What else do I have to do to remove the entire mount?

Thanks! You guys are awesome

I had my top mount off this morning it takes no time, just place a jack under the lower engine mount to hold the engine up and undo all the bolts on the upper engine mount and put the poly urathane insert in and replace the bolts and take the jack back off voila done.

if you are gonna buy from the dealer and have to get the upper mount i would still suggest at least picking up the lower if not the combo from karo clicky

installing these mounts took me a whole 15 minutes...isnt really that hard to do at all, just like installing a intake...simple as 1 2 3

These are solid mount replacements. Do they transfer a lot of vibration into the cabin of the car? She's got a totally stock car. Her dad's car actually... So that's why I'm trying to do this one by the book.

Personally, I have a Stage 2 SRT4 with solid motor mounts. So I would like to put solids in, but this is not my car It needs to be just as drivable as stock...

if you are worried aboot vibes then;

automatic-almost everything i have read leans towards more vibes due to idle speed

manual (me)-little more vibration at first, i also put them in in the winter(don't know if that makes a lick of difference), but as they settled in and i got used to them it is hardly an issue at all.

mostly i got vibrations between 1k and1.5k rpms, after that it was smooth, and now if i didn't know they were there i wouldn't notice 99% of the time.
