From the Performance FAQ at the top of this page:

Quote:

Jet Chip Performance Control Module (PCM): ok a lot of you believe in it, but it’s the same thing as the TPS TEC and Venom 400. you can also do the same thing with your foot. I wont get TOO in depth on this, but it’s a waste of 100 used, or 200+ dollars new. Karo dynoed this beast of a faux mod and gained like 1.3 or 1.5 whopping HP. Aka, for the price, you could have done better. But like said above it’s the same as pressing harder on the gas. To read more about it in depth, I’ll refer you to the JBO main library listing for it. http://www.j-body.org/faq/10/20/

I got a venom chip for free when I bought my manifold...I tried it out it fools you into thinking your car is faster but basically it just tricks the computer into thinking the gas pedal is further down than it really is, so 50% throttle= 75% and 75%=100% but the problem is 100%=100% so if you hammer the gas peddle down it does the same thing all venom will do is waste your gas which at teh current prices makes it an even bigger POS. There is no point to it buy a pulley or intake or header but dont waster it on trying to get quick power from a dumb worthless chip. I dumped mine pretty quick glad I didnt pay for it.

Wow Shifted! I have to hand it to you, how can you keep this up? How many times do you have to say this every week, talk about broken record syndrome. I have to hand it to you for being so persistant and nice to those who want to "chip" their car.

I beleive it will work for a matter of time if your ecu is'nt capable of handling your bolt ons, correct me if I'm wrong just making sure here. But don't you install a resistor in either the intake temp sensor or the water temp sensor which tricks the ecu into thinking it is running cooler than it actually is, so it will richen up the mixture slightly but over a period of time of the ecu receiving the same info it will than go into limp mode thinking that it has a faulty sensor.

There should be a sticky at the top of the Performance forum with a title of "There are no performance chips for 3rd gen 96+ cars." If you opened up the thread, the first post would be from Shifted, and it would just say "That is all."
