Ractive Intake Doesn't Really Fit

I got this Ractive Cold Air Intake and it said it's for the 2.2L engine (95-98), so yeah , the first time i put it on the damn hood wouldn't close because the filter was to high, and that tube that comes out of the engine was bent so much there was no flow through it for sure + my engine started to sound really loud.
I machined a piece of steel at school to get it to fit, now the tube is straight and the hoood closes, is still sounds loud though plus i kinda felt a power loss ( i think it's not so cold airish, cause all the heat from the radiator goes to it...
Any of u had the same thing?

Heat from the radiator? The intake tube should follow the rout of the oem tube. If you have the intake running towards the front of the car over the valve cover, that could be why your hood won't close. The filter should be by the battery, After you remove the stock air box. do you have a pic of how you installed it?

New sig in the works
