Will a 01 exhaust fit on a 03? Are the bends and hangers all in the same spot?
"Straightline performance isnt everything!"
you are talking about going from a 2.2 OHV of 2.4 catback onto an 03 Eco... I believe the catback itself does not change on any of the 3rd gens, just everything from the header to the cat.

Im just looking at a cat back system I found that says its for a 96-01. Personally I didn't think that there is any difference between any of the years as far as catback go's. I just wanted to make sure.

Spotabee, just to back you up:
All 3rd gen cat-back systems whether it's stock or aftermarket, fit each other. Now, from the header to cat is a different story. 2.4 motors and ECOTECs have the header ports in the back of the motor while the 2.2/2200 OHV motors have the header ports in the front of the motor.
So on a 2.2/2200 OHV the header will come out the front and wrap under the motor and the piping under the motor will lead to catalytic converter. The 2.4s and ECOTECs header goes stright down pretty much into the catalytic converter.
Hope this has helped...

Sorry if I wasnt clear, I was just talking about the cat back. I allready have a ceramic coated pacesetter header, and I wanted to know because I just bought a Megan Racing Cat back, but it said it was for a 96 - 01 and I wasnt sure if it would bolt up. Thanks for the help guys.

then yes, any 3rd gen J body catback will work, doesn't matter.

Quick Question"
Why the hell do you guys buy Pacesetter crap? Because its cheap?
Please respond....
Theres a few reasons I bought the Pacesetter header. I live in California where we have emission laws and the Pacesetter header is carb legal. Ive read alot of posts that people make and the pacesetter header was more suited for the gains I was looking for. I've also read that the weapon-r and rksport are almost identical and people have fittment issues, not to mention they're twice the price.
"Straightline performance isnt everything!"
the 99-05 cat back are the same
the 98 older 2.4 have a different bracket
and the 98 older 2.2 have the same different mouniting bracket , with the edition of being shorter
the rk/magnaflow gets away with listing 95-05 because they supply both style brackets , plus they have a extra pipe in the box
pacesetter lists their systems as i said above
the only exceptions are the sf/gt's and the 03-05 with the dual exhaust , but you can replace the dual on them with a single for the same year range
people buy the pacesetter header because it is the best eco header out. no fitment issues, 4-1 design, ceramic coated, and not expensive. what more could you want ? I've heard nothing but good things about the pacesetter header for the eco.

15.891 @ 88 mph stock, still getting @!#$ty launches...
I've heard very good things bout the Pacesetter ECOTEC header also , I would get one but I want a 4-2-1, and so far i have been unfortunate to find one.
I personally have heard ALOT of bad things about them, headers for other cars. But ill admit i have heard anything bad about them for the Eco so maybe they are finally figuring things out. But from what ive heard i would never buy Pacesetter anything.
In the past I heard bad stuff about pacesetter as well, thats why I did my research before buying one and every one had nothing but good things to say. I'll tell you too that I am really pleased and have nothing bad to say about the header.

I have had alot of people look at me funny when I tell them I got a pacesetter header. They have issues on other cars, but for the ECOs they sure made a good product.
The other alternatives, RK and Weapon R have fitment issues, DC Sports is brand new, and all 3 of those are pricey.
With all the success of the ECO Pacesetter, why not.
