I have a 2.2 1999 cavy / automatic and wanting to add some real horse power. Already have intake, header, custom cat-back exhaust with obx muffler and magnaflow hi flow cat . What I was wondering what would be better to add , a supercharger or a turbo
Goto the boost forum, there just gonna tell you its all a matter of preferance and how much your willing to spend basically. I personally wanna go turbo but a good stage 3 kit runs about 3 grand+ and thats not counting labor but if u do go turbo gonna have to get rid of that header for the turbo manifold one reason im not doing my header when i get my exhaust till i got my mind made up for sure =) hope this helps a lil at least
The people in the boost forum would probably be your best bet to ask =)

WEll I been researching the same thing, And to be honest this thread will probaby Be moved to Boost. But so far Iam leaning toward the Turbo. But it does have its draw backs. Like change in Header and Oil configs to make sure it stays lubed. But the Gains are lot bigger out of a turbo then SC. Depends really what you want. SC can give good reliability while turbos can give a hell of a punch. Just depends on what your looking for.

Agreed, go to the boost forum and they would better help you with more questions on the boost topics.
If you want my opinion, it really is up to the person. Some people like superchargers because of lower maintanence issues, some like turbos because you can adjust boost easier. Learn more on how they work and what different types of turbos/superchargers do.
