egt isnt as needed as the wide band is
Wideband A/F and an A/F gauge are two very different things, I would rather have the EGT as well if I were going to use gauges as a tuning medium. Wideband is the ultimate tuning device though, next to a dyno and complete engine monitoring system.

Not really, the software doesn't have an EGT gauge (because there is no sensor for it), and the a/f readings are just as erradic as the narrowband gauge. The best thing to use the software for is to watch the fuel trims, which especially nice if you have a software that can map the fuel trims vs. rpm and/or speed.
