Ok i have a set of comp cams roller rockers to put into my 95 sunfire 2.2 and all that and im looking into pushrods. The stocker i know have to be changed with replacements but im wondring if there is any other ones that can be used. I have heard that you can use a v6 model pushrod part #7861-12 comp cams high energy pushrods. If anyone has a link or any info pleae help me out..phil
7.650 length i forget what the diameter for the pushrod.
hope this helps
sal
they are 3/8" diameter pushrods... frickin big block pushrods i tell ya. you don't necessarily NEED different pushrods. in fact with your stock valves, valve springs, and retainers i'd recommend the stock length pushrods. if you want longer pushrods and you want to change out your entire valvetrain, then cool. however, those 7816-12 pushrods are the pushrods i ordered the first time around, thinking they'd work because they are for the same gen v6 the pushrods are for. HOWEVER, they are longer than our stock pushrods and i can't remember if they are the same diameter or not. but those will not work.

iif the older 2.2 and the newer 2.2 are the same length rods, check with howell automotive, they have some from crane cams that are decent as nuts!
acually i have been told they are differn lenths..maybe i should just go with stockers...phil
yes the 2200s are a different length pushrod, which is another reason why our roller rockers and the 2200s roller rockers will not work together. Call up Comp Cams and see if they have a pushrod with 7.650 length and 3/8" diameter. I can't remember the part number for the ones I have, but they are Comp Cams High Energy pushrods.

^^^You sure on that lenth? I have a 95 sunfire 2.2 and i was told the lenth was 7.458....phil
i am pretty sure it's 7.650 but you might search it to make sure.

Nope i checked again with the local rebuilder shop and that number never came up....now would anyone have any clue where i could find those lenths?? gm didnt even have those numbers for me..phil
Stock replacement push rods will be fine. The stockers are 3/8" diameter(same dia as the Big Block Chevy), which is thicker and stronger than the Small Block's 5/16" pushrods. They will also already be hardened for use with the guide plates.
Any good place to get replacment pushrods? We are having a hrd time finding them and gm wants my first child!..phil
I got mine from my local CarQuest. Then again the CarQuest wharehouse is in town.
They were made by Federal-Mogul/Sealed Power part # RP-3328 for '94-'97 GM 2.2L(individual) net $4.18 ea total $33.44. The price will vary by where you live and how well the owner knows you

Just had to replace my pushrods, found out the intake rods had 'chips' boiled (?) into them where the guides meet them. Guy helping me put in a new head gasket (effin' GM screw-up!!) told me it was 'cause of backlash during downshifting and using engine compression to stop. It was lightly backfiring and sounding sweet, but I guess I'll have to curtail that action. I got rods from RockAuto.com, number RP3341. They are just a skosh longer than stock, but barely. With the roller rockers, they fit just fine.
