VS.

and would both of the intakes fit fine on a 2.4L 1996 engine? im assumming so, but i noticed that both replace that black silencer, which has a large rubber hose. just wanted to make sure these intakes also have the same setup to take that hose.

but what do you think is better guys? are they both equal in size and hp gains?

thanks!

2.4 engine is a 2.4 engine...

same chassis, same fit.

pick the one you think is prettier. performance is basically gonna be the same. both of em are what you see is what you get.

IMO if your gonna go with WAI just get a $20 ebay its a tube connected to a cone filter diffrences are gonna be highly unoticable besides color and look . as for hp gains you may notice a slight gain nothing spectacular,if u do exhaust also you may see more of a diffrence and you will notice more sound when u give it gas from inside the car. I had a WAI for 2 years and decided to just turn my airbox into working ram air induction (w/ rk sport ram air hood) seems like same hp as the WAI until u hit 50+ then it feels like it makes the engine run alot smoother temp also effects it though hope this helps but if u got your mind set on one of those more expensive intakes to each there own i guess =)

i have a '96 2.4 and the AEM short ram, it was my first mod i did to the car... didnt notice much of a gain when i installed it(my car had stock exhaust and everything at that point)

althought before my intake i was only able to get my buddies 95' 2.0L 5spd avenger w/intake, full 2.5" exhaust and header by a fender maybe if that... once the intake was in i got him by a car length.. i doubt the intake had anything to do it with tho, more than likely he just messed up a shift or something...

also my intake rubs on my hood, battery and wiring for the fuse box, i tried fixing it atleast 10 times and it still does, i think the filter it came with is too big(the filter doesnt hit the hood tho)... i did fix the rubbing on the fuse box wiring tho...

i've heard good things about the injen....and maybe it's just the angle of the picture, but the injen looks to have less drastic bends, and you want that when flowing air, doesnt slow down the velocity so much

Agreed, the injen looks like it bends much more smoothly, which would be better for the flow of air.

Intakes are generally the same...doesn't really matter which one you want...

I'd pick AEM though
