what is the stock size on a 2200 for a throttle body. I can't seem to remember, and what size would you upgrade to? 59mm or even 62mm?
if you're staying all motor, get a 2.4 throttle body and bolt that on
if you plan on going boost and dont/ or mind trading torque for top end power go 62mm
I'm goin 62mm but its going to have a turbo in front of it

hey PJ, 2.4 TB is the same size as a 2200 TB.....52mm
the 2.3 tb however is 56.
what make/model does the 2.3 TB come off of. I'm thinking about doing the swap, I also heard you have to modify it to fit anyone know where I can get the info and some pics of what to do???? it beats paying $200+ for a new TB, I'd rather save my money and buy the bigger intake manifold to go with the TB. thanks
4 months in Korea = 17" rims
4 months in Iraq = Bodykit
Not having mommy and daddy pay for everything = priceless
i got this info emailed to me a while back...just haven't had a chance to go pick up the tb.
first you need to make sure you get the entire tb, this includes the wheel that the cable
wraps around and the black metal bracket that holds the cable.
next, use a pocket knife to carve out the hole where the ball of the throttle cable goes (on the big plastic wheel) because the hole is too small. then you need to go to an
autoparts store and get a rubber vacuum hose tee. they are pretty small, like
an 1/8 inch (not sure exactly what size, you might have to get a couple and
return what you dont use).
the 2200 has on more small vacuum line than the 2.3 does, so you will use this tee to hook it up. all the other bigger lines hook up fine. then put the tb on the 2200 intake manifold and loosley bolt it up.
after you have done that, give that plastic wheel a twist to make sure the
throttle plate in the center opens. it may not, mine didn't, so i had to grind
down this metal piece because it was hitting the manifold. its kinda hard to
explain where it is, but if it happens, you will be able see where it hits.
some people dont have this problem.
oh and make sure you have the two sensors (tps and iat) that go with the 2.3 tb, you cant use the 2200 ones.
i can't remember who i got this info from at the moment.
^^^^^^^^^^^ is that for the 2.3 to fit on the 2200 or what?
yea....those were the instructions so that you can put the 2.3 tb on the 2200.
yeah that info came from me...let me know if u have any more questions
a bigger TB is great on the 2200's, I just installed my 59mm this morning and felt a small gain in the upper rpms
I had an extra 2200 tb bored out with a butterfly plate from a 2.3l so i got it bored out to 56mm i felt better throttle response and more power in higher RPM range (not much but noticable) i only paid $60 for to get bored out too
is it hard to install it?

only thing is, what you gain uptop, more than likely is what you lost down low off the line cause of the slow in velocity.
more or less a shifting of the power band
heres a quick fix for the 2200 and 2.3 56mm TB.

what he said ^^^ the more you cruise the org, the more you'll know that event is always right. listen to this guy, he definetly knows his crap.
what about the 2.4 liter, i have 155 pounds of torque already wil a 50 mm throttle body help?
