Is a resonator even needed? Could I leave it stock but have aftermarket header, cat, and custom piping with muffler? Should I go with an sftermarket resonator.thanks for your help

No it's not needed. You can do exactly that. I'm currently running no resonators and the above listed + more and love how it sounds. If you think it's too high pitched you can always get a resonator but no it's not needed.

no resonator just gives the alittle more raspier sounding tone. thats all. a horse or two also i think.

that's what he said, o resonator gives it a raspy sound. so with a resonator less raspy sound
think of a resonator like a glasspack...
rule of thumb is the longer it is, the 'deeper' the tone will be
