Yea on that first link it looks like you have to be a member to view it.
Well if he doesnt come threw we will make damn sure that there will be no more import expierence shows ever again.
Hey everyone, Just thought I'd give a little update..
Randall from ZOS posted on myspace and got this,
a reply from myspace.
I apologize if no one has contacted you. Mike has been sick for over a week and is recovering but recovering from heat exhaustion takes time.
We are still trying to figure out who won as it seems that some information is missing, once that is found or determined, payments will be made.
Sincerely,
Cyndi Costello
Office Manager

Thats cuz you just had a fish tosed in your cobalt! jk lol
Hey guys, My daughter works at the B.B.B. here in Wichita so I had her run a search for "The Import Experience" LLC in the state of Tx. and came up with nothing.
I've also sent an e-mail to this Cyndi to see what's up , of course no response yet.
I also found this from the Import Experience web site in the "terms and conditions" at the bottom of the page...
"2a. SHOW PRIZE POLICY: For security reasons, cash prizes are not awarded the day of the event. Winner of prizes must file an IRS Form W9, upon receipt of signed IRS Form W9, Import Experience will issue a prize payment in the form of a
check within 6-12 weeks. Winners are responsible for any and all taxes regarding the winnings. Failure, or refusal to sign tax document will result in forfeiture of prize.
IRS Form W9 must be signed and returned to The Import Experience within 5 business days, or prizes will be forfeited. The prize policy is not limited to show competitors, it applies to contestants and spectators that win any prizes."
I'll keep pushing on this end...

like i said once words spreads around the DFW area there will be no more import expierence shows ever again
Hey , Here's a little info. for you guys. I called my CPA about the whole W-9 thing , because it sounded a bit odd to me and I've never had to file one for any labor or compensation unless it was over $600 in the last 10 years I've been in business.
"A W-9 form is only required for an amount above $600 and then it's only used to gather information to file a form 1099"
So there is NO REASON to have to file a W-9 for any part of winnings of this show...

eh! This is what it was suppose to link you to.
To everyone that came out to IE '06:
I appreciate those of you that did come out to the show to compete and to view the cars.
I spent alot of money and time on the show to make it a good show, I had lots of people, vendors and sponsors commit to being at the show, but only about half of the vendors/sponsors actually came out. Some of the advertising that I paid for, was not published in time or at all, nor was it distributed in Texas on time either. Some sponsors that had committed to bringing product did not and some sponsors even committed to promote the show and did not, and then the fact that it was 108 degrees on Aug 20...
Why did I leave? My staff told you that I left because of heat exhaustion, this is true. The EMT I had there told me to get some food and some rest, which I did - though after eating I felt worse than before I had ate. At the time that I had left everything was running smoothly and appeared to be a great success. The next day I went to the ER and was told I was dehydrated and probably had heat exhaustion and to rest easy, but because I live alone I have to do everything for myself, so I did as little as I could - per doctor's order's - but things had to be done, etc. I had to know what happened at the show...
My Staff gave me their assesment of the show as well as the financials of it. Not all of my staff lived up to my expectations, nor did some of my sponsors or people that worked the show. My Stage Manager, Admin, Admin Asst, Support Manager, Models, Photographer, DJ and Head Judge and the Volunteers did what was expected of them and did it when I was not there, but that's where it stops. I am thoroughly disappointed in the performance of several people which I believe contributed to the failure of this year's event - I won't name names, but the musician that was supposed to perform live but never showed; the onstage "replacement's"; the 58 models that did not show up after committing to do so (or call me to say they would not attend); and the 12 sponsors that did not show up either.
When will we get paid? Turnout was less than it was in 2005 and revenues were not as expected. Projected sales revenue was higher than it actually was and I took the chance that "everything would be ok." But taking that chance was a bad idea. Secondly, one of the Judging staff took the liberty to dispose of (i.e. throw in the trash) all of the Judging forms, so I have no idea who won any of the competition classes, nor can I verify who attended the show, etc. I realize this is not your problem and is mine solely, but because of it I have a delimma, how will I pay the prizes that I committed to paying to the people that actually won the classes? My only answer is that since I cannot immediately verify the competition show classes, but can verify the 'Best of Show', 'Best Ladies Ride', and 'Best Crew' I will pay those, but cannot just write a check for those prizes, it will have to be in time. As stated the show was not profitable, but once I earn the money to pay you, I will do so. Alternatively, I'd be happy to exchange goods of like value (I know this is a long shot but I have to offer it)
For the competitors that won the show classes you will have to wait until I determine who won what, and only after I determine all of the class winners in a matter of time (but just to weed out the people that are trying to get something for nothing).
I hope this is acceptable.
Thanks, Mike

PS - I have absolutely no intentions of running from what I rightfully owe, but please understand that this is a part-time business and it will take me time to fulfill the obligations.
Pretty much lame... Take pictures of the first place trophies and send them to him to verify winners and try to get the name plates that fit on the trophy, I guess.

I suspected it was a similar situation. One of the reasons RKC is reluctant to put on a big car show. Either way that is the risk you take, I hope he takes care of the situation in a way that makes everybody happy. Keep us updated, I’m to lazy to mess with there forums.
