Hey, I have the 2.4L motor and I removed all the timing chain bolts(I think) and the damn thing still wont come off.. There is one bolt that is behind the belt tensioner shoe that Im not sure comes off or not? The reason being is because I can't get a wrench behind there to unscrew it. Is that the last bolt that is holding this housing on?

I dont remember if there are bolts behind the tensioner shoes.Just take pop the shoes off and remove the bolt.Did you remove the 4 bolts behind each cam sprocket?It should come off easily when all the bolts are out.

something must not be out, or it would pop apart, try getting that one bolt you had trouble getting try jacking the engine up or down and having someone pull the engine with the lower engine mount detached.

The engine is out of the car. The last shoe that I have on there is the part that works with the chain tentioner. That shoe is held on by some rubber thingie that LOOKS like a phillips head screw. Behind that is that last bolt that I cant get to.. Oh well, thanks for the help guys. Ill see how it works out.

In the manual it mentions taking a wire, bend it to a U and place that behind the shoe. Then it says take a screwdriver or something and put that into the reset hole and pry the ratchet sprawl off the ratchet teeth!! wtf? lol Where is the reset hole? There illustration looks nothing like the area im working on ughh.

Ok I got it off lol, im stupid. All I had to do was put a screwdriver under the shoe and pop it off.. Ahhh. Thanks
