O.M.G. !!!! If you have not done this before its a 10 on a scale of 1 - 10 !! Basicly its the
"main seal" around the rear of the crank. In order to get to it you usually need to do 1
of three things , all of which blow big time !! But you asked soooo......
1st way is drop the trans to gain access to it.
2nd way would be to pull the engine.
3rd way is drop the oil pan and drop the crank out of the engine.
Its located around the rear or the crank shaft directly on front of the fly wheel which is between the engine and trans hence the reason for the removale of the trans or engine.
Like I said it blows big time!!!1 If you have never done anything like this before I would suggest you get help from someone who has. I'm not saying you can't do it but they are a bitch and if you've never even pulled an engine before you should find help.
Good luck

Lol thanks , I knew it was hard just by the name of it. lol Let me guess the front crank seal is just as bad, lol.

No actualy the front is easy. Just pull the pulley off and the balencer and its right there.
You should get help with this it is a bitch.

its only the rear one thats broke

Beware the Rouge Dragon.
IF u want u can buy some time with some bars leak stop leak for oil seals etc.I know this is not clearly the proper way but it sure does beat the crap out of oil all over the flywheel and trans parts.Just something to consider, since it is more than likely the rubber seal is brittle and dumping oil out.
how can you tell its that seal that went out?>
