Just wondering if the eco's waterpump is running off of the timing chain, like the LD9'S? Are their any known issues with the waterpumps on the eco's, like the ld9's?

chain driven, yes. Water pumps failing, not yet.

So changing one is going to be as much as pain as it is on the LD9... Ahhh that's not what I wanted to hear.. Ohh well.

I don't know if it'll be as hard. It is on a seperate chain w different gears to slow it down. Plus it looked like it might have some good access spots to get to it. Big prob with the LD9's is it was on one chain and spun way to fast.
It's the balance shaft chain not the timing chain that the pump runs on.
Definetely have to remove the front cover. Which means you have to remove the crank pulley. Then better to remove the balance chain tensioner or the water pump gear.
So it's still a PIA, but not nearly as bad as the LD9.. I haven't heard of water pumps failing yet, so that's a good thing.
