It's been a long time since I have done a side window and it wasn't on a Cavalier, but I'll try to help you as much as I can as most domestic cars are similar. First get the shop vac and vacuum out the inside of the door as I'm sure there is a big glassy mess in there. On most cars the window is held to the regulator tracks by rivets which must be drilled out. You can reinstall with 1/4" bolts. The interior door panel must come off and possibly the outer weatherstripping. You will have to tilt the new window all kinds of funny ways to get it in. BTW a junkyard is the best place to get the window.

God bless America.

no, its really easy. i promise.

you'll need to remove the door panel. im sure you can figure out how to do that. next clean out any glass you can. i had to put my hand down into the door to loosen up a lot of glass.

the actual window glass is held onto the regulator with 10mm nuts and bolts. 'roll' the window down so that you can access those bolts through a hole in the door. remove the platic tabs that went on the glass.

now 'roll' the window back up, but not all the way. about 5 inches below the highest point it goes. you're gonna insert the new glass from the outside of the door and at and angle. align the glass so that the plastic tabs are on the fastening bolts. roll the window down so that you can tighten those bolts just like you undid them before. it is very simple to do. i promise when you do it you will realize how it goes in.

now make sure everything is secure and everything works well. then you can put everything back as it was. if you have anymore questions, just post them here or email me.

Peace Out!!!

rivets?? wtf? well, you will need to drill them out and then go to an auto parts store or hardware store and buy some nuts and bolts that will fit it.

Peace Out!!!
