First it's refrigerant.
Second: the a/c compressor will not cycle if the pressure is too low. So you have to jump the relay. Take a paper clip and and go from one side to the other. the switched side. This will cycle the compressor.

In the engine comp. there is a fuse box. take the cover off and locate the a/c compressor relay. black square looking thing. look at the relay and see which wires are normally closed. like below. Connect those together with a paper clip with the a/c turned on.

thats weird the stuff in the can is under pressure, I remember changing the AC in my old grand prix the stuff went in and then my compressor turned on. Maybe you don't have your valve open lol?
yeah, the cans are under pressure. Just follow the instructions.

Its a scrader valve, all you gotta do is everything you said above and push down Like as if you need to fill i bike tire.
“Facts are meaningless. You could use facts to prove anything that’s even remotely true."
What I was trying to say above is that I didn't have to put any jumpers on the low pressure switch on the grand prix, the stuff is pressurized so it'll just go in and the computer will realize the pressure and turn on the compressor.
maybe you filled the wrong pipe....the out not the in
no it was the low pressure side, the side that you are supposed to fill it at.
it wouldn't go on the high side if it wanted too.

^^^my stepdads jeep had identical fittins on noth sides.....alost killed himself cause he didnt read teh big red tag
^^ that would be an r12 system then. What year was his jeep?

Maybe the car is full and that is why its not taking any refrigerant?Either that or you might be doing something wrong. The compressor doesnt have to be on when you recharge it.Id check for a disconnected plug on the compressor or on the evaporator. And if you have to fill it up,it takes 1.5 lbs of refrigerant.
