Alright so hes my situation. Went in for inspection about two months ago and failed since my OBDII wasn't ready. Currently there at 5 out of the 7 sensors ready but two remain NOT ready (cat and evap). I need at least 6 out of the 7 in MA. Brought it to my local mechanic to be checked out and was told that there is not any reason that they shouldn't be ready after driving the 600 hundred miles or so. There are no pending codes or failed codes currently in the history.

In the mean time the abs light kicked on, and it was traced back to the ecu, and was told that something inside is failing and should be replace. My question is will the faulty ecu be the reason that the sensors are not ready or is this two different problems? The car is a 2002 Cavalier Z24 5 speed with about 126k on it. The use auto parts yard said that the ecu part number wasn't one of the options for the cavaliers. The tag on the ecu says BRK PRES MDL PN 22664106 ECU PN 09395080. Does that part number agree with anybody's car? Thanks

First off its not a sensor read status. Its a test cycle status. If you have not driven in the correct manner to allow the PCM to go through the complete test cycle it will never show ready. Also, the ABS is a separate system. I would be more inclined to think you have a damaged wire than a faulty EBCM for your ABS.

o2 sensor, fuel trim issues will withhold the cat monitor but if the 02 and comprehensive component monitor both ran and passed thats not it.
One condition for evap monitor; won't run if fuel tank level is above 3/4 and below 1/4 tank.
