Its the 2.4...
How many mounts are there?
Which mount is most likely the problem?

I am sure you all have been through this already....

A little movement is absolutely normal.

A LOT of movement is most likely a bad or several bad motor mounts.

Remember the Transmission mount also factors in as a motor mount.

The rubber between the steel mounting pieces tears or rots thus giving your engine a lot of movement.

FIX IT!! Too much movement will cause other problems you don't want right now.

theres an upper engine mount (which is visible next to the coolant res) theres the lower Dog bone engine mount (same side, under the car) and then theres tranny mounts. excessive rocking is most likely due to a shot upper engine mount.

i would look into getting some racing motor mounts from RK sport or ebay has them i think....they eliminate pretty much all movement and are prolly the same price or maybe cheaper than an OE mount dont quote me tho...

definately cheaper.... the rk mounts are not racing mounts, theyre polyurethane which is awesome and they'll last forever... LZM makes Solid mounts, as does TTR, whcih eliminate ALL rocking, but u feel it through virbations

If the engine is rocking you need to replace the dog bone or torque strut (it's proper name). The engine mount ( passenger side ) and the trans (driver side) really do not have much influence on the engine moving forward and back much if the torque strut is not bad.
