18psi?

Where can i purchase a 18psi overflow tank cap? i currently have the 15psi one, and I want to upgrade to see if this will solve my woes. I went to autozone and advance and neither of them carried it. Is the cap for a different car, or is it a dealer only item? I have a 98 z24 cavalier with a 2.4 ld9.
Thanks
Matt

98 z24, few upgrades, nitrous on the way!

I got my replacement cap from a dealership and noticed that it was 18psi. This was for a 97 2.2.

So, what is everyone elses opinion on this? Do I need a 2.2 cap or what? And do I have to get it from a dealer?

I think all 3rd gen reservoirs are the same

What woes are you trying to cure? A higher pressure cap will only raise the boiling point of the coolant, and 15PSI would take it up to about 232F. If you're still overheating at that point, something's seriously wrong.

if your having pressure problems you most likely

1. have a leak somewhere into the cooling system which is causing the overpressurization
2. you have to much water to coolant which boils faster and lower than a 50.50 mixture
3. cooling fan not kicking on where it is supposed too (overheating)
4. maybe someone else will correct me or have a better idea.
