any suggestions on how to remove it without crushing it. im trying to change the header and its stuck

Remove the nut that holds it onto the exhaust camshaft housing. Pull and wiggle it straight up. You don't have to be gentle. It wont break easily. I pulled mine out and put it in that way a couple times two weeks ago.

i have been trying to get mine out for weeks.... it wil rotate and wiggle a bit, but wont pull out... was afraid to yank it for fear there was some retainer or something stupid i was missing....

Mine is a 2.4L though..... not sure what engine you guys are refering to...

He has a 2.4L engine. The only thing holding down the tube is the nut at the top and maybe a little friction from the rubber seal at the bottom. Just pull and wiggle hard. It'll come out.

yeah....dont pull too hard. i just broke the tube. I didnt even notice at first since it broke so clean, but now i have a piece of it stuck in my block.
