ok so i have brembo rotors, with hawk pads on the way.
i was to finish off the look by painting my brake calipers possibly red to match the car, or bronze to compliment the rotors and wheels but i dont want it to look like @!#$ or look ricey.
what should i use to paint it with?
should i sand them first?
is there a website with a GOOD tutorial that i can follow so i do this right?

Duplicolor brake caliper paint worked fine for me and they really stand out.
yeah there are a lot of options to consider so i am still trying to figure it all out.
honestly. I know a lot of people during the beginning of a few quarters ago that sprayed their calipers with the duplicolor stuff.
it looks like hell now.
I have not seen one decent brake painting job as of yet. They start off good. look nice. but just end up looking like crap after a couple of weeks.
paint them black, not red or bronze
canadian tire sells thos kits darkstars is talking about... i bought one many many moons ago, but never got around to using it.. i think i ended up throwing it out... i cant rember the price but it couldnt have been more than $20-30... i should really go pick one up again as my brakes are in need of some...

Just for something to do one day I used a pnuematic sander and ground down all the writing and numbers on the front of the caliper then i used some some fine sand paper on the whole caliper, then used a very fine scotch-brite pad attachemt to polish them then put some high temp clear over it. Looks really nice, and after 2 months they still look very good, they are kind of starting to turn color but I am surprised it lasted this long.
But anyway I say no matter what you paint them with grind the numbers off the front it looks so much better.
