Cav Poly Urethane Drift Rear Bumper Wave Issue
Wednesday, May 17, 2006 12:58 PM
I am having a terrible time with my 03 cavalier drift rear bumper. It is made of poly urethane and has some waviness in the rear bumper right below where the trunk meets the bumper. I have taken it to my body shop and they said there isn't anything that can be done. They tried to reinforce the underside of it but it still has a noticeable wave. If anyone has this issue and/or knows how to fix it can I please have your thoughts. Thanx.

a couple L brackets up under there to let the part where the waves are sit on usually cures up that problem. That shop you went to, ehh dunno if i'd go back if they couldn't figure out a couple L brackets would do the trick

Yup that is exactly what my buper is doing. I'll have to see if I can get it fixed with l brackets. If anyone else has any tips please let me know.

L-brackets will just move the problem around.... grab an L-shaped bar of aluminum, and screw it to the body under the bumper.... that way, the whole thing sits on the L-bar.... no way it can get wavy.
