seems like this is the new fad for the next few years, I have seen 5 or 6 already this year. Does anyone have them on a J? Got pics?
YES.........................I SEARCHED!!!!!!!!
I have yet to see gullwing doors on anything besides the old mercedes SLs and Deloreans...
How is it a fad? Unless your talking about Lamborghini style vertical doors, in which case, I have them on my J, and yes I have pics. But so do 5,000 other people on here
^^ yup i think you got the 2 mixed up
in the latest magazine classic truck a old ford pick up had them on the truck, and autoloc makes them now
ya it`s cool but i would think you would have to reinforce the roof the sail panel i dunno just a thought
can i haz bondo
[quote=ßãggéÐÇåv98 (Ûñqùðtäߣè Øñé)]^^ yup i think you got the 2 mixed upNo, they are making Gullwing door kits just like they make vertical door kits now.
But they probly won't work with a sun roof am I right ?
Semper Fi SAINT. May you rest in peace.
My god . . . I was joking about the gull door kits at the meet the other night . . . Now some schmuck company makes em . . .
Lambo's are played out already, and now we'll have to put up with another 4000 questions on hinges, poppers, broken shocks, etc for the damn gull kits! Gah!
*storms off*
No..I'm not confused...lambo's are played out...around here (TEXAS) I've seen everything from suv's to mini coopers with them. They are common. Real common. I am talking about GULL WING Doors. If you go too any custom car shows or go to online magazines they ARE the next big fad. I've seen them on old trucks, a jetta, a couple 300's and a few others.....guess there isn't a jbody with them seeing as so far most of you don't even know they exist.
i have seen them also i think they are gay! vert doors are better than those! but no i dont thnk there are any J's with them yet. olny a matter of time though im sure.
I saw the gull kit offered on autolocs website and it appears that he truck they show it installed on has had the roof cut to allow it to hinge up, nice kit, but the install would be pricey....
i want them but yeah install would be a pain in @#$

Look on the bright side.... if the shock fails on a gull wing door.. while the person is getting out of the car... thats 94 lbs coming down on the persons head... chances are they will be in the hospital for a while so they wont be able to come on here and post about it

LOL
Personally I like the good ole suicide doors but it's still cool too see the new customs fads.
I've seen them and don't like them. I agree about the suicide doors.

The shop i am getting my work done gets all their lambos and such from autoloc. They only have 7 kits avalible at this time, but they have plans for a ton of cars. They state the truck (new chevy SUV) they have on the website that has the gullwing in the rear door and lambo on the front can be done in short time with lil work. Dont know what the hell that means, but i am sure it is not a bolt in kit with a description like that. Said though they are only gonna be made for the rear doors on 4 door vehicles for the time being though. I just like Autoloc because their hinges are freaking think and they give lifetime warranty on them.
in one of the car audio mag issues i got a while back, it had a jetta with lambo fronts and gull rear, it looked really sweet........... for a 4 door
many changes in the making
my favorite part about doing bodywork,.......... bondo bugers
^^ I saw that, too. That jetta looked awesome.
