When wheels are powder coated, will the finish come off when tire have to get mounted?

it can depends on what kind of machine the shop uses to mount the tires..and how good the tech is....remember most places are not responsible for wheels when mounting tires

Powder coating is much more resistant to damage than paint. It should be no problem.

unless you have a complete retard running the machine who doesnt know how to work it then it wont chip. you can dent a rim before the powder coat comes off

I appreciate all the replies. I wanted to get my older set of z wheels powder coated black. I plan on getting the 05 ls wheels powder coated depending if I like the way the 99 z wheels look in black on my 05 cav. Thanks again
