I have the gmsc on my ld9, and have the fenderwell part of the aem eco cai but Id like to make some more room and change this. Id like to see what everyone is doing for intakes with their sc setups, ld9 and even eco. For all of those who moved the battery and went straight into the fenderwell, how did you do it? Drill out and re-weld the tray? Id like to move that battery back a bit and do this with 3" piping, or just a straight 90* off the tb down but thats a problem with the auto lol. Post up your pics!
Thats kinda how I have now, the aem eco cai just wraps around the battery into the fenderwell and connects to the tb using a 90 degree coupler. My aem pipe has a crack/whole I accidently did when cutting the bracket off, and is just kinda hacked so Id like a different way. Ive seen many people move the battery and go straight to the fenderwell, or straight down off the tb...so lets see em guys
On mine, I moved the battery tray and battery up and slanted it a bit, Then bought a piece of pipe with a 45degree angle in it, then the 90 degree elbow does down through where the window washer reservoir used to be, and then filter in the fenderwell.
I took my washer fluid completely out, because I never used it before.

Thats exactly what Id like to do, straight 3" into the fenderwell. Did you drill out and reweld the battery tray?
I drilled out the battery tray, and reattached it with big self drilling bolts.

I moved the battery to the trunk and went with a short ram WAI set-up.
Way more room in the bay with the battery out of there.

Im about to buy a 3" j-bend to make mine. In how many spots do you have to drill to remove the battery tray and what size bit are you guys using? Also, Id like to get rid of that sc pcv tube, what are you guys doing for the pcv connection? Ive seen people using 90 degree pipes/couplers right off the tb and not use the pcv connection.
I found this picture from HazenRider's site.

Yea, I've seen that car in person when juggalezeke had it...I also saw it blow the hg and leak coolant all over a parking lot lol.
Im curious about the pcv system as it wasnt hooked up to the intake. I think he had a breather but had issues spraying oil out of it with the sc for some reason.
On my intake I kept the black intake sleeve that the pcv system hooks to. You could always just keep that part on the throttle body like it is now

ahah wow i havent seen these pics for a long time but here is my old set up.. I bought a silicon 90degree bend (vibrant) and bought a aluminum 45 degree pipe (vibrant) and a K&N filter and K&N filter bag just because it sits out side of the engine bay, and i had it tucked right beside the transmission and the bottom of the filter kind of sat on top of that black frame brace. You could use just a straight pipe but i found the 45 aloud me to tuck it up easier and it didnt hang as low to the ground.
Also if your worried about it being close to the ground, i drove it in the winter and summer with flooding in the summer and 4+ feet of snow in the winter and never had a problem. And even with my new set up with the turbo the filter still is sitting in the same location and so thats 4years and no problems of hydro lock or any thing.

here's mine .. straight off the SC, cut out the hole a little bit wider where the intake drops through into the fender well. then band clamped some rubber pieces onto the intake to keep it from vibrating against anything
