LD9 intake manifold for the m62 supercharger
Friday, September 07, 2007 2:03 AM
*First off, this is no disrespect to Mike (the first person who was making this manifold setup for the ld9) or anyone else who started the creation of this setup. Just letting everyone know that there might be another alternative to this mod.*

In a previous post on a fabbed intake manifold for the ld9 (to use the m62 from a SS/SC or Redline)...
Heres the link for all the info:
m62 manifold info (ld9)

Now to cut to the chase,
A local machine shop here by the name of ActionRaceFab is willing to create this manifold (of his own design) for us at a better price (cause we all know that as jbody owners, we're cheap) with exceptional quality/structure, fitment, and make it as plug and play as possible. He will also have extras options for this manifold ie. intercooler setup, meth/alky injection, NOS ports, etc. This company has built great turbo setups, full exhaust, roll cages, lots of custom work. Ill post pics of his previous work asap upon his response.

Now its going to be based upon a group purchase idea, so the more people, the less $ it'll be. Ill receive an estiamte along with his pics.

If he gets enough interest, then he'll start this project asap, give us pics of the design and placement, and hopfully get some vids of it in action.

This chance only comes around once so often!

If it has to be a group purchase thing I would do buy one a litle sooner. I would rather be able to buy one outside of a group purchase a litle later though.

Alright...

As of now, they are doing the measurements and making sure they get the ideal angle for the charger to mount without any problems. As of prices... well they are talking everything over, keeping an eye on the interest on this mod (which Ive said is alot of people), and figuring details. He doesnt have a quote yet but he will shortly!

Until then, he DID send the previous work pics as promised so have a look....!

I will do my best to keep everyone posted/updated.

I want this mod to go thru as bad as most of you too, so Ill also do my best to bug the ish outta them! lol!

Did they give you any kind of time frame for when they might be able finish one?

$3000?

LOL, hardly... I talked to him on the pricing and he said it would be roughly around $500-$700(w/ all extras), might be alittle different pending (again) how many people are going to be in on this. So everyone interested, post up!

8 Month fab time?

LOL, I hope not... They were in the works of measurement as of yesterday, but they have other projects on hand as well. But Im pretty sure that if they see the demand coming pretty strong, they'll hop, skip, and jump on this asap!

Hey guys, glad to be back on here!

I am Jimmy from Action RaceFab, and I think I need to clear up a few things: first off, thank you ALL FLAWLESS for getting me back involved with the j-body community and getting everyone excited for a hot new product!

Also, I HAVE NOT STARTED THIS YET, NOR HAVE I EVEN TAKEN MEASUREMENTS FOR ANYTHING!!! I don't know how this rumor got started maybe by a certain over excited enthusiast...?

I have not been able to set up a quote for this, but if the potential is here, and for me as a business, potential is latin for $$$.

NOW what I need from all of you, is this: tell me what you want in this manifold!

Give me example pictures, and maybe even some MS Paint pics to give me a good visualization!

My apologize to you and everyone for the misconception! I take full responibility for it! Mah Bad people! Yes Im very excitied to get this done! Ha

Well, the people are waiting and wanting...
Keep us posted!

I will email some pics to you, I would like it to look like the GM one, with the ability to intercool it, and be able to use the MP62 charger off of a LSJ. That way it can keep cost down, as those chargers are around 450-600 dollars.

I do not care if it is intercooled or not as long as I can spray alky injection I would be happy Being able to spray nitrous would be cool but not a factor in in if I would by it. It is also important to note that it here is a market for this so as long as you can sell them for right at or under a grand.

Well here's the good news: one of the most difficult parts of the intake manifold to reproduce is the fuel injectors setup. It lookslike the injectors are placed in the head, not the manifold.

So alky injection, nitrous ports, and what else?
