I would like to use a Caspers knock gauge to monitor my engine. The only post related to the topic I could find says that I need some sort of ESC module (electronic spark control?) to convert the knock signal into something useful. I looked on caspers website and didn't find any kind of info other than I need the esc module. So for those that have installed the gauge into their j-body, do you have any kind of wiring info you could clue me into with?? Is their a module I need to purchase and install to get a useable signal or can I splice into my ESC module??
I have a 98 2200 if that matters.
honestly I just use mine to monitor knock, and I tune it out.
however, my current computer does not require a knock input.

Yea I just want to use if to monitor knock. Just in case I get some crappy gas or something.
in that case, I ran the knock wire to my gauge, and nothing else.

So your saying I shouldn't need the module?? Do I splice the wire going from the knock sensor just like an air/fuel gauge is hooked up to the oxygen sensor??
I cheated, I did that because I dont have knock retard.
you will need the module if you plan on running your stock computer properly.
