I figured I would copy this from my classified ad, considering I would prefer someone local to purchase this setup....
I am selling a kit, which just consists of the major items needed to swap a 5-speed Getrag transmission into your automatic Cavalier/Sunfire. The following items ARE USED, and sold as is. Everything functioned perfectly at the time of removal. I am parting out a totaled car. Kit consists of:
- 5-speed Getrag (~90k miles)
- CV-Joints (axles)
- transmission mounts
- flywheel
- clutch
- shifter box w/shifter and cables (B&M short throw shifter)
- clutch pedal assembly
- slave cylinder
- fluid reservoir
- all plumbing
- OEM 5-speed ECM
I would prefer LOCAL PICKUP ONLY. Shipping will be fairly pricey, but I could possibly be persuaded to travel a REASONABLE distance for hookers and blow. 8)
Price is very negotiable.

No. 2.3/2.4L bellhousings are unique to themselves. The older HM282 "Getrag/Muncie" with the "GM Standard" bellhousing will fit the Iron Duke, 1.8/2.0/2.2 OHV, 60 Degree V6 and 3800 families of engines.

Hey Dave or anyone,
The bellhousing of an LD9 isn't the same as an Ecotec is it?

Not what I need, I'm going older style for more holding power, as in the 282 with the 3.61 FDR. if anyone finds one let me know.
Officially removing dibs
I also have a 5-speed in my shop in Cincy that came off a W41 car. Let me know if you are interested in that. I don't know all the numbers, I just know what I just said. I was originally going to put it in my car, for the same reason you are wanting one.

Heh. Make me feel old. Makes me think that we were actually at a JBO bash before some of this site's current members were even old enough to drive.
