Hi gents and ladies, newcomer here

. Not sure if I'm posting this in the right section. I'm looking for some help in point me towards the right direction with an engine swap- more specifically I'm gearing up to fit an L61 and F23 into my Fiero.
So you're probably thinking WTF haha, I have my reasons for doing the swap (all aluminum engine 150lbs weight savings, DOHC and modern engine, durable and good platform to mod)- but I'll need your guidance to help me figure out how. As far as physical install, mounts/exhaust/plumbing I've got most of that covered, I've done a LOT of research on this swap. What still troubles me is the damn wiring, this is my first swap- I'm mechanically inclined but this is one of the more obscure swaps as far as Fieros go. So far, about 5 people have running Ecotec Fieros- so its not well documented. Those that are running, most run on megasquirt- and one gentleman took the entire harness from a donor Cavalier and replaced all the wiring in the Fiero, with the Cavy BCM included/fuel pump and sender/etc.
This 2nd option is what interests me the most, except I want to find out of its possible to use the stock Fiero setup and guy wire in the Cavy ECM and engine related electronics. Thats how all the engine swaps are done on the Fiero forums, yet people say that the Ecotec is more difficult from the wiring standpoint. Why? I'd much rather keep my stock gauges/fuel sender and not have to hack up my tank/etc, so I'm wondering if this is possible.
This is the thread with the guy who replaced all the wiring for anyone who cares:

Please guys, I'm looking for specific info on why this is different from say a 3800, 3400TDC, or any other swap. I appreciate any help, thanks.
Tom.
Well there is one member here that does have an eco swapped into a Fiero but I think you'll have better luck getting the info you want on ecotecforum.com
Ecotecfiero on Ecotecforum.com has a LE5/L61 hybrid, he is best suited to help.

Thanks guys! Apparently VATS isn't a problem on these engines when not using the BCM so the swap will be much more straightforward than I thought. Take care.
