Ignition Problem after odd swap, opinions needed

Ok so Ive been working on a swap from a 95 2.2l 3spd to a 2.4(yes i said 2.4) 4spd, everything is all together and bolted up, the wiring harness is out of a 99 model, I modified the 99 harness, added wires for the EGR valve, tach, knock, and all the other missing wires that i cant remember at the moment. replaced coils, icm, plugs, wires(boots), ckp sensor, cmp sensor, i put the voltometer on the purple and yellow wires running into the icm(from the ckp sensor) and i got no reading at all when the motor was cranked over checked the power(pink) and ground(black) wires on the icm as well, they were fine. so i grounded the designated ground wire on the ckp sensor and i got the 5v signal, later down the road i discovered that there was a PCM ground that wasnt grounded for some reason and a 12v supply on the pcm that wasnt powered as well, so for a test i ran the needed ground for the pcm, then i ran a wire from the + of the battery to the needed 12v supply and nothing changed, still no fire. im getting gas, crank, but no spark at all, even did a visual check. and yes i did the passlock procedure as well, any help would be great. I have a few options that im going to attempt unless anyone here thinks it would be pointless, option 1, find a wiring harness from a 97 or 98 and rewire the whole car, option B try to do an ignition swap for a 97+ 2.2L(I have brand new coils and wires from the 95 and they show compatible on the autozone website, all id need is the ICM, which is no problem.) or option 3, place my head on the radiator support and smash head with hood till i get an idea.
