since your engine only has 140 to the flywheel from the factory.

Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!
The crank can hold up to like 600hp i believe? And as for internal's the rods are rated to like 250 hp so they'd need replaced.. i bet you could push a little more on them but not to much .. and for a supercharged motor i'd go with 2.5" header back exhaust..
like 99redz24 said.. 170 is bs. especially at the wheels.. maybe at the crank that is possible.
And I believe that if you have a stock ecotec and you throw on the supercharger it's suppose to get you to the 200hp mark. Once again.. it's probably to the crank.

hey, ok mabey he dosnt have 170 horsepower but you dont need to flame him for it. he came to the org for an opinion and some constructive criticism. Seems like you guys have been flaming alot of new guys lately, and i used to wonder why people said bad things about the org. so to answer his ORIGINAL question yes the stock crank should be fine for what you want to do. Just get some forged connections rods at the least, probably pistons too. eagle should be good. Check out ebay people have auction for cheap eagle parts all the time.

flaming? that aint flaming. i seen other people get much worse than what taylor did. some guy comes on here like taylor did and claims he has 170 hp. where is his proof? making claims like that is almost asking for trouble.

no one can really tell you. most your power will be from the cams and head work.

ive heard different things for this. 2.5 inch for supercharged 3 inch for turbo apps. far as why, i dont know.

ok heres a question for you ? turbo over supercharger ill go with that im sure you know alot more than i do .......s/c you have to get a "reflash" basically say'n hey theres a s/c here blah blah lol what do you do when you turbo ? is there some special ecm/ecu thing you gotta do .....i hate to bring a honda in the picture i no COMP. DIFF. but my buddies got a turbo on a 97 it ran like @!#$ ...computer was not noticein the boost he got either a map or iac spacer raised it aprx. 3/4" which " was hiding" the boost from the sensor can a cavy have such a "boost coverup" i guess you could call it ???
According to the build book you have to start upgrading at 250hp.

This video helped me figure what a typical set of mods would help on the 2.2 Ecotec.
The guy dynoed his car and has an exhaust, CAI and underdrive pulley and got 142.6 bhp and 143.1 lb-ft .
I am guessing he has a manual tranny.
2003 Sunfire with 2 1/4 inch turbo muffler, 2 1/4 piping, 2 1/2 inch resonator, a 2 1/4 inch catalytic converter, 2 1/2 inch down-pipe, a 4:2:1 RK Sports 'clone' header, E-bay strut brace, ground wire kit and an AEM true cold air intake NOPI edition.
Okay...The word is spelled "P-O-S-I", not "P-O-S-E-Y". Spell it like you did again & someone will get the wrong idea about you & call you a "Poser".
Go beyond the "bolt-on".

The l61 is a stout little engine, I've heard of 900hp with full (and I mean FULL) build - the engine eventually exploded though. You can get 600 out of it safely, it's all a matter of how much you're willing to spend.

^I think I heard of that too, but it was in an old '32 high-boy style roadster body built for dry-lakes land-speed. And running on E85.
