I've been running mine with just a little filter on it for 2 1/2 yrs and 100k miles with zero issues so i don't know about that.
to the OP its a 5/8 inch nipple so the 5/8 should work A-OK
my reasoning against something like that is its illegal... you are bypassing the PCV valve and thats part of the emission system.

Good thing there's no emmisions testing in Canada

your either trying to be funny or your semi retarded... emmission testing is determined provincially, not federally. ontario for one has testing.
also, if a cop stops you (or MTO for example) they can ticket you for it. its considered an illegal modification.

Yah I was going to say.. Ontario does have emission testing because I live here.
?I live in Ontario too, Sudbury to be exact, it is a southern Ontario thing? Because weve never had to do it here. Ever. Where are you guys from? T.O?
there is a cut off line for where you have to do it. the problem is, northern ontario does not have any drive clean centers, so rather than you having to drive 4 hours south, they just exempt you. its still an illegal modification though, and cops can do something about it.

it will not mess with your vaccum, and it will not bypas the PCV valve, the eco does not have a pcv valve

sorry thought it had one. most people replace the hose for the PCV with a breather, so i figured it had one.

Thanks
well from my experience: the little filter that you place on the valve cover nipple and the intake part will spew oil out of it when pressure builds up. I kept on getting oil in my bay and did not know where it was coming from, then when i took off the little filter it was soaked in oil so "it" was the culprit. In my opinion why not just throw in an oil catch can, i just put one in today and took me 1 hour and thats including making both brackets for the catch can and my nitrous solenoids. here is the
catch can i used, hope it helps!

Pcv is an orafice in the cylinder head on ecotecs. The hose that goes to the valve cover is suppose to let fresh air into the engine. Or in some cases when crankcase pressure is too high, it lets the high pressure out (not good).

good point ! ...everyone likes to cry and moan about OTHER things that come up on here that are illegal ..hint hint..and we get banned if we talk about them...but i suppose this illegal mod is ok huh..after all, who cares about the environment or emission laws right
catch can works like a charm very easy to make also..
