Hey every one! I have been reading on this site for a few years. but, i have never posted before. I love this site and think alot
of ya are pretty good with the quad 4. So, I have a 95 z24 manual with a 2.4 bottom end, 99 z24 auto engine wiring harness, 99 pcm
re-flashed to a 98 z24 manual (benefit of being a gm tech), 086 head, 95 intake cam, 92 exhaust lo cam, and the stock 95 cam towers ect... Recently I had a issue with #3 rod bearing. Go figure!! So I got some new 77's to put in. But I need some opinions on oil pumps. Do you guys think I should use the oil pump thats in it? (156k on it) or new gm or aftermarket? I don't want to due 2.3 conversion at this time. So, any Idea's would be helpful!! Thanks !! F.Y.I. my 95 z24 stock 2.3 did not have a cam sensor!! Never seen that before!
I would get a different oil pump. I think Clevite makes a oil pump for the 2.4's.

Then you've never seen any quad 4 except the 95' auto before. It's the only quad to carry one (unless you consider the LD9 a quad).

SO you are saying in 95 only the auto has the cam sensor? No manual's do?

Unless for some reason they made a mistake in some, yes. Manuals are OBD-I and run batch fire like the earlier quads (which is why they can be chipped). If you look at the intake cam tower, it will have the casting for the cam sensor, but it just won't be drilled out.
