Here is my problem
I want to get the bracket that holds my cruise conrol module powdercoated in time for a show next weekend
I ordered a spare bracket but it probably wont be here until it's too late to get the powdercoating done.
What I want to do is separate the C/C module from the bracket and temporarily suspend it in place (using zip ties or whatever I can rig)
My question is whether I should use the c/c while it's like this and also if there is any chance that this would hurt the c/c system.
Not sure if the throttle lines that run to it have a certain tolerance for being moved that should not be F-ed with...
Thanks!
yeah you're probably right...
Mayeb I'll get lucky and find a junkyard this weekend that has one...
Does it necessairly rely on the bracket for support though. I've noticed on my 96 the cruise control doesn't exert any pressure on the bracket, as the cable takes the brunt.
We've suspended ours with zipties while the bracket is being painted.
If you want to do it and arent sure if you want to still be able to use your cruise, just unplug the module.
wont effect it , powder coat away
so I can just reconnect the c/c later and expect it to fully function? Not a difficult uninstall/install?
Thanks
just dont use cc while its suspended
just remove it from the bracket , zip tie it something , enjoy cruise while your part is getting powder coated
