i just wanted to make sure if i need the 2.3 cam housing. i got an offer to get the cams but they don't come with the housings its just the cams itself. after goin thru the sticky i didn't see anything about needing the housings but i just want to make sure. with all that i got done to the car as far as bolt-ons how much hp can expect? will i be able to feel the difference? damn i'm getting excited i can't wait to put this in,lol.
no you do not need the 2.3 housing you only need cams and gaskets and cam lube
you can expect 10-15 hp your will probley feel a lil more power after 3500rmp
you need a exhaust cam from a 2.3 lo
and a intake cam from ONLY a 95 2.3 lo

these are the casting numbers the seller supplied (The casting numbers on the cam are intake-245/742 Exhaust-225/455.) the exhaust casting # doesn't match the one in the sticky. should i buy or not. the sticky says 255/455 for the exhaust cam.
i think towards the end of the sticky, someone clears it up and says that the number is actually 225/455. buttt i say this, i had went to the junkyard to get the cams, found the cams (so i thought) WITH the same casting numbers and then measure the cams only to find out that they were not the sizes i needed. i'd hate to pay the $120+ from ebay when i had got the two cams for only $30 at the junkyard....
Nope, it ain't stock.
I bought a new set of .375 @200 cams from ebay, brand new from 2.4L cores, excellent quality and good pull in upper RPM.
i'm buying these off of someone on the org
I'm sure there are other places to verify the casting numbers for the cams... To answer your question, your stock housing is fine, unless you are going to put the bigger HO cam in.

i'm pretty sure they are th LO cams cuz the dude said i didn't need the housings and it would be a straight drop besides all the little stuff like the gaskets.
